Al Ticknor began working in aviation in 1977 doing maintenance, inspection and training with the airline industry in the Pacific Northwest. His experience and commitment to excellence led him to join Beech Aircraft doing technical support for the highly successful 1900 Airliner.

As an airline support representative, Al realized the need for specialized skills and training that many operators need online. So he went on to pursue this concept maintenance training and technical services that are specialized to the individual needs of operators. North Star Aviation Services, Inc. began serving customers in May 1989.
